Backstage info
One of Theatre Ink's mottos is “You don’t have to be in the show, to be in a show!”
There are many ways to get involved with the backstage side of Theatre Ink! If you have any questions about how to get involved backstage please do not hestitate to email Freshman Cabaret’s email: froshcab18@gmail.com
Stage Crew
Stage crew is responsible for designing and creating the set, lights, and sound for every Theatre Ink production! Freshman Cabaret is one of the few shows that does not have a set, however it does have a light and sound design. This year lights will be designed by sophomore TBD and sound will be designed by sophomore TBD. Anyone is welcomed to get involved with stage crew! Stage crew meets everyday after school in the “shop,” which is the hallway behind the large auditorium.
Stage Management + Student Producers
Stage managers are responsible for coordinating between all members of the production team and making sure the production and the production process runs smoothly. This year Freshman Cabaret is being stage managed by sophomore Adair Nolan and being assistant stage managed by sophomores Dumebi Okonkwo and Megan Schwartz, and our first ever Freshman stage manager, Lily Renneker! Other Freshmen can get involved in stage management by interviewing to assistant stage manage other Theatre Ink productions. Student producers help manage apparel for the shows, food for long rehearsals, posters and ticket design, programs, and house management (selling tickets and ushering.) The stage managers can put you in touch with our student producers (StuProds, for short) about this if you are interested or you can email the student producers at teamstuprod@gmail.com.
Props
As we get closer to the show, we'll be looking for help collecting and organizing props. For the tech and dress rehearsals and the shows themselves, we'll also need extra hands backstage to make sure props are organized and available for the actors and reset for the next day. Contact the Stage Managers if you are interested, and we'll be in touch about helping with props as the time gets closer.
